Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.
Players can recycle six items at one time to get a gauge of each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be accomplished by a number of means such as using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to increase their value.
There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available throughout the world as well as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The main way to upgrade equipment is by making use of upgrade components which are items that can be slotted into equipment. Most equipment has slots to upgrade, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer an overall bonus.

Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats following the upgrade. If you don't have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The number of upgrade components required for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The price of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However, you can reduce this cost by purchasing upgrades from a seller, or trading them with other players.
The majority of weapons can be upgraded by adding a prefix, such as a rune or an insignia. Some can be upgraded by adding the suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item, adding an adjective, for example 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any mods.
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective tool for communicating visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewers and trigger curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs can also increase the retention of messages by creating an emotional connection in the brain.
Each glyph increases the value of a stat by specific amount. This is clearly displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is the maximum value that the glyph can increase a stat's value by and not the amount it actually increases the stat by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier as well as the quality of the item you are in awe of.
The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
You can remove any glyph with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item on which the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be recovered using the glyph shards.
When you take away an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards that are part of that glyph will disappear. You can also put a glyph on your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This is beneficial for players who are taking lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an unspecified affix, which is typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items are not listed in the menu of item upgrades , but they can still be upgraded. When you press the "upgrade button" you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will change the design of the item's window, and allow up to six items be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, which means higher-level items are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.
In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it is higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.
Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, but players must be aware that it could reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls required in order to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective with ring items and Diadems that do not have any competing ilvl-raising options.
Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It would be fairer to let people pay for it with cash or food items, which will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to invest excessive amounts of time. The developers do not plan to offer paid rerolls in this stage of the game's development. Instead, they plan to add an option to change the race in the future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to increase the level of an upgrade for an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade, which increases the value of upgrading a given stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading, which increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. Finally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to a more powerful upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
When item upgrading upgrade items it is essential to remember that upgrades are random. Most of the time the best roll will come from the glyphs, however there are also possibilities for higher or more special rolls. In addition the iLevel of an upgrade will be determined by the type of item and when you upgrade a unique or rare item to an exceptional item type it has a chance to gain a higher iLevel.
Upgrades can be costly, especially if you are upgrading gear from the standard track to legendary. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the iLevel it's built upon and the number of levels to upgrade. Some upgrade tracks also require crests in order to get to the next level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item will reach the maximum level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level however. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.
Based on the item's base level and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change too. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or unique item to an extraordinary item will have a chance to be upgraded to the Enhanced Defense of the new base type of item.
